Research

Louis Soulard’s research in art, design, and material culture spans over a decade, developed through his graduate work and tenures at Sotheby’s and Jason Jacques Gallery. Utilizing bilingual fluency in French and English, his methodology relies on primary archival documentation, forensic material analysis, and direct consultation with international estates and experts to reconstruct provenance and design histories.

His research expertise ranges from historical cross-cultural exchanges—including a master’s thesis at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts on 17th-century Chinoiserie motifs in Western Europe—to market-defining, collection-specific research projects surrounding rediscovered masterpieces by Isamu Noguchi, Alberto Giacometti, Pierre Legrain, and Eileen Gray.
